Spellforce: Conquest of Eo is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Owned by Gravity and published by THQ Nordic on 3 February 2023. For its development assets were used of Spellforce 3:Burning Blood but altered to fit the canon lore.
Setting
The game takes place on the southern part of the continent Fiara and approximately a hundred years after the Mage Wars. The influence of the The Circle can be felt everywhere despite the vicious rivalries that is apparent in the organization. The story follows a young mage as he returns from his educational journey to his old master in Highmark only to find his tower in ruins and his master slain. He decides to take control of his master's remaining resources and carve a dominion for himself in spite of The Circle's attempts to stop him.
Gameplay
Conquest of Eo is a turn-based strategy game that takes place from an isometric perspective, which consists of hexagonal tiles. Units are arranged into groups and a single such group occupies one tile. Units within the game have a limited number of movement points, which are replenished at the beginning of each turn. The players are able to customize the player character and choose a primary and secondary magical specialty.
Reception
The game received "generally favorable" reviews and was well received by critics for its interesting gameplay and above average story but was heavily criticized for its use of assets from previous installments.
