The Mace of the Guardian is a One-Handed weapon used by the Commander of the city of Zerbo guards during the Trial of Zerbo on The Stepping Stones.
At some point the Mace is stolen by the Suspicious Figure, who later offers to sell to to The Elder, a Shaikan trying to reach the Realm of the Gods.
If you're playing for the Achievements Difficulty courts and/or the Berserker thief, you must buy it or you will not get them.
But don't equip it until you're ready to run for the achievements.
Having it equiped while on the city of Zerbo will turn the guards hostile if they see you.
Later, you can sell it or use it.
It's a good weapon to use at the early stages of the game.
