About
The Godstones are a creation left behind by Aonir after he tamed the Primal Elements on Eo. Not much is known about them, only that they possess god-like power within them.
Convocation
After the Elements were set free towards the end of the Convocation Wars, they obliterated all of Eo except small areas of land surrounding these stones. This was due to the stones containing a fraction of Aonir's power, allowing them to protect a relatively wide area surrounding them.
Function
Not much is clear regarding the power and use cases of the Godstones. We do, howerver, know that the Dark One sought them out to use as a power source for his Time Portal during the events of the Battle for Fiara. According to what Rohen Tahir tells the Phoenix Bearer before his death, the Dark One acquiering the Godstones would devastate the islands they were taken from, likely meaning that those islands would succumb to the power of the Elements once their Godstone is removed.
Apperance
The apperance of the Godstones slightly changes between the first and second SpellForce series, though they are generally depicted as an angular, oval-shaped gem atom a grey obelisk emitting a bright light from within it.
The obelisk itself is not a part of the Godstone, only being used to prop it up. However, it is not known whether these obelisks were created by Aonir, the Guardians, or the people who first discovered them.
Locaiton
Godstones are relatively rare on Eo, only being present once per island ( after the Convocation ). This is because the islands formed around the Godstone's protective power, further meaning that all the area on Eo that had been destroyed during the Convocation had no Godstones in its vicinity
Trivia
- Some maps in the first SpellForce series are missing Godstones, though this was most likely an oversight during the map's creation, as there are very few such instances.
