SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm is the expansion of SpellForce 2: Shadow wars which was released on March 23, 2007. The expansion improves the original gameplay and introduces a new faction and campaign but it was criticized due feeling "unfinished" overall. The story takes place in the aftermath of the Shadow Wars and follows a former Rune Warrior turned Shaikan who is searching for the Soul Carrier, the protagonist of the main game, while her world falls apart.

Setting

Approximately five years after the Shadow Wars The Portal Network that Rohen Tahir had created begins to malfunction and the nations of Eo fall to chaos. Amidst the panic and confusion a guilt ridden former rune warrior and her companions travel to uncharted lands in search of answers.
