The path into the Abyss leads into the scorching heart of the world. This inhospitable place had once been chosen by a Fial Darg for the ritual in which the Elven Queen Cenwen would be sacrificed in order to break the spell on the evil gods of this world. How could it not be, for the flames of the Abyss burn anyone and anything that comes near - devouring them and tearing them asunder.
The Crimson Legion, as well as the Fial Darg, are no more in this place, though traces of them remain. However, even with them gone, the Abyss proudly spots its share of deadly beasts, lurking, waiting to teach those foolish enough to wander here what it means to cower in fear.
