Before the arrival of the Humans and Dwarves on Xu, the Iron Heart Mountains were home to the Norcaine. Their abandoned fortresses still adorn this place and send chills down the spine of those traversing the region. The Norcaine of this may be long gone, but it had since found new, perhaps even more gruesome, inhabitants.
At the time of the Rune Wars, the Raven Pass was the place of one of the first clashes between the Rune Warriors and the armies of Hokan Ashir. The Rune turned up the victor, however, the battle left this place more desolate than ever before - perhaps for the better, for many horrors linger neath the mountains here, waiting to reach the light of day.
