As the Dark Races fled Xu, they found themselves with the Imperials at their back, poised to rid them of this world. They ran to the far east where they constructed a massive fortress atop ancient Shaper ruins that was to keep their pursuers at bay, giving them the time they desperately needed to escape the continent. Many honorable warriors of the dark sacrificed themselves on that day. As their brethren set course for Urgath, they stayed behind, determined to face certain death, for they knew that they would secure a future for their people by doing so.
In the centuries that followed, the Ghostwatch lay dormant. It had become known as a place penetrated by the influence of the Dark Races. It wasn't until after the Convocation that its true nature had been uncovered by the Soul Carrier - Sanshala, a city of the Shapers where they studied the mighty Dragons. This prompted others to, once again, explore this mystical place, but they would soon find that the halls of the Ghostwatch isn't as empty as they had believed.
