Windholme might be the biggest, and perhaps most well-known dwarven city, but their origins started in Fastholme. It was built over a thousand years ago on the very peaks of the mountains when the dwarves first emerged from the caves of the Grimwarg to grasp the fresh air of a world still dominated by Dragons, and ever since, it was Fastholme from where their race spread across Eo.
But the city had seen better days. Unlike Windholme, which is favorably located along a trading route, Fastholme is isolated, and foreign visitors seldom find their way to its walls, but this doesn't trouble the dwarves, for their elders possess the secret of the Firebane, a powerful spell kept secret by them for millennia. Many have tried acquiring this knowledge, but alas, most have been turned back by the inhospitality, and perhaps stubbornness, of the Fastholmers.
