The Age of Swords was an era in the history of Eo before The Convocation. This age, which started around 1000 B.C., was characterized by the conflicts and expansion of human kingdoms in a struggle for survival and domination of the world.
History
Dragon Civil War
For countless millennia dragons had dominated the world of Eo, However, they considered themselves to be merely protectors hence why they hunted the tyrannical Shapers to extinction. As time went on, some of the dragons were consumed by pride and chose to betray their kin in order to rule the world. What followed was a deadly civil war which significantly weakened the reptilians and resulted in the creation of a diabolical subspecies called Devourers, these were the defeated traitor dragons who were tortured and had the Allfire taken out of their veins by the Guardians as punishment for their treachery.
Rise of Humanity
Dwarves depart the Grimwarg Mountains in search of mineral resources. They reach the Windwall where they stumble upon barbarian Humans living in caves. They are impressed by their intelligence and decide to culturally and technologically uplift the primitives. In the years that followed, humans, thanks to their high birth rate, rapidly expanded across Fiara and established many settlements.
Birth of an Empire
Amidst all the turmoil and chaos the world found itself in, a man of exceptional power whom history would remember as Chlreus the Blessed One was born. He proved himself to be the greatest warlord of the Age of Swords who managed to unite the divided human settlements, eventually becoming the first god-emperor of the Hybernian Empire, solidifying his dominion by hunting the dragons to extinction. However, history would later reveal that a handful survived the onslaught.
End of an Era
Despite the unstable nature of the Age of Swords it was in many ways a golden age for humanity and unfortunately it came to a violent end with the betrayal of the Renegades and the War of the Six Races.
