During the days of old, back when the Dark Races first reached Urgath, Shal'Dun was the bastion and centre of power of the Dark Elves - but those days have long since passed. Today, Shal'Dun is in its most divisive state yet, with the adepts of Nor and the Crimson Empire tirelessly wrestling for supremacy inside the city. This may make them more susceptible to foes, but nevertheless, one should weigh their options well before daring to battle the Norcaine.

After the Convocation, the city had been swallowed by an emerging volcano erupting inside its wall. Some Norcaine - calling themselves the Crimson Empire - took this as a sign of Zarach, and have chosen to devote their lives to him. This sparked an ongoing conflict in Shal'Dun, and though the Crimson Empire currently has the upper hand, it is uncertain when peace might return to the Burning City at least.

Notable Individuals

  • Shar Arduin (deceased) ➙ Legendary fighter of the Sinistra caste who participated in Elyn Muin - a ritual battle dedicated to their god.

Notable Historic Events

  • Year 0 — A volcano arises inside the city, splitting it to pieces. Many Dark Elves see this as a sign of Zarach and form the Crimson Empire
  • 1~9 A.C. — A civil war between the three sub-cities of Shal'Dun - the Moon, Sun, and Star city - ensues.
  • 1~9 A.C. — An escaped Fial Darg takes control of the Crimson Empire and uses them for his bidding.
  • 10 A.C. — The Shadow Warrior, together with Craig Un'Shallach, conquers the city temporarily
  • 10 A.C.Craig Un'Shallach is abducted by the masked Hokan Ashir as he seizes power in the city.
  • 15 A.C. — After Hokan's ultimate defeat, the city, once again, finds itself engulfed in conflict, with the Crimson Empire slowly winning the upper hand.
