Hirin, the Rider is one of the six remaining Guardians of Eo.
Appearance
Even though the Guardians are able to take on any shape they desire, Hirin often appears as a dark knight accompanied by a black horse.
Attributes
Hirin stands for the wind, storms, the passage of time, transience, and freedom. He embodies everything that decays and passes as life does. He is considered the ferryman who brings the souls of the dead to the River of Souls so that they may find their deserved peace.
Names
He primarily goes by "the Rider", but is also known under the following names: The Soul Carrier, Messenger of Dreams, Bringer of Sleep, and the Nightmare.
Symbols
Hirin's insignia are: a lonely Rider, an Hourglass, a black stallion, a falcon, and a wolf.
Worshipers
Hirin is worshiped by many of Eo's races, mainly as the harbinger of death and dreams. He seems to be exceptionally popular amongst nomads.
Quotes
Hirin, you will be the Harbinger, the one to bring good and bad. You shall accompany the souls of the dying to the Halls of Death and guide those born into life. Sleep, death and dreams, but also happiness and health will be the goods you trade. May they fear you and love you at the same time.
-Aonir's task to Hirin.
