Lore
- When the armies of darkness first emerged from the Black Jungle on Xu, their trolls decimated the human ranks, using trunks and their long arms as weapons, incapacitating the humans before they had a chance to strike back. Soldiers were skilled with swords, yet it meant nothing could they not close the distance. Needing a change, the Hybernians of Xu quickly developed the use of halberds, staffed weapons which allowed them to dispatch their foes from a safe distance, enabling them to push the dark ones back and eventually forcing them to flee to Urgath. Halberdiers are well-equipped units, and their training is costly, which is why, even today, they are immensely valued among human armies. Their impenetrable defence decimates cavalry charges, and their unique reach makes them indispensable in a well-rounded force.
