The mountain still stands today, located in what is known as the Gate of Kings - and the people of Eo named it Aonir's Blade to honor the Allfather and his sacrifice.
After the War of the Six Races, once the Guardians had defeated the Fial Darg, they decided that it should be no other place than here for them to find their eternal prison.
